Welcome to Meki Batu Fruits and vegetables Growers’ Cooperative union LTD

We have 20 years ago experience on collecting produced fruits and Vegetables, cereal, pulses crop seeds conditioning from primary cooperative society and distribute for domestic markets as well as leading to foreign market. MBFVGCU product apart from other distributors, but one of difference is our commitment to food safety and quality Certified at Global G.A.P. Likewise our teams work very closely with national and local growers, making sure the products they send us and how handle those products within our pack house and warehouses exceed governmental food safety regulatory standards. Our staff is trained in safe handling, storing and shipping.

Company profile

Meki Batu Fruits and vegetables Growers’ Cooperative union ltd was established in Ethiopia, oromia region at Meki town on May 11, 2002 A.G

Meki Batu Fruits and vegetables Growers’ Cooperative union started by twelve (12) Primary Cooperative contain 527 members(461 male and 66 female) in two districts (Dugda woreda and Adami tulu Jido kombolcha) near to Dembal lake.

AT initial capital of half million (500,000) ETB

  • Currently have 153 Primary Cooperatives and 8,410 member farmers
  • Own capital about 81.8 million ETB
  • Extended districts to Bora, Zuway dugda, Adama, Dodota sire Woredas
  • Size of irrigated land owned by members, Hectare 600 hecter

Head office located in Meki township at 138km on the road to Hawassa and 60km south of Mojo town south in East Shoa Zone, Dugda woreda of Oromia region,

Objectives

  • To consolidate and sell members’ produce to local and foreign market
  • To supply appropriate agricultural inputs for producers at fair price, on time and required amount.
  • To facilitate better access to credit service
  • To collect and distributing market information to producers
